Hi there,
I am a spanish teacher, and I have found a lot of mistakes in the livemocha courses...as a teacher I don´t advice it. Later one teacher has told me about palabea.net Palabea is a language learning community. They don´t make the content by themselves. But as a teacher you cancreate virtual classrooms for free. I have one there. I upload all content for my students..it´s quite easy and quite good...after my class I keep contact qith all my students...it´s really nice.
As a user..I´m improving my english there!!
have a look inside and it´s for free.

Well, the site steph recommended was the url she used as her homepage. I checked out that site the other day, and they offer flashcards, translated cartoons, and tutoring, which clients have to pay the tutors' asking price. Then the site gets a cut out of the tutors' pay.

I haven't seen anything requiring or asking for payment at LiveMocha. And I just learned how to voice chat there too. I saw a place where pc cams could chat, but I don't have one hooked up, just a microphone.

The young man I was chatting with didn't have his microphone yet, but he had me saying things in English for him to listen to, and to help me with my pronunciations (and stop calling the man I'm married to "my wife" lol).

I have a similiar situation with learning Spanish...I have been unsuccessful so recently about 5 months ago a searched the internet for resources for language learning and found livemocha.com and edufire.com. So currently I'm using both sites to help me become fluent in Spanish and so far it is working (so I think). I think both of these resources have great tools to help me learn Spanish and they compliment each other. Good luck!
